FAQs
Licensed in Wisconsin, USA
In accordance with current requirements for licensed clinical social workers in Wisconsin, to receive online therapy, you must be located within the state. This means that you, the client, can be located anywhere in the state of Wisconsin at the time the services are rendered.
What can I expect during my first psychotherapy appointment?
During the first appointment we will go over expectations, background, and discuss goals. We will focus on what your current challenges are and what counseling will look like for you. You will be emailed a link to a secure platform before each session. Log in at our designated time from a location with a stable WiFi connection on a phone, tablet or laptop with a camera and a pair of headphones. For partners, initially, we will meet all together and then individually. This will allow me to assess if couples coaching or individual therapy is most appropriate. Couples coaching involves communication skill building and can consist of as little as three sessions.
Insurance
I am an "out-of-network" provider at this time. Paying out-of-pocket is a great option for people wanting privacy, flexibility and confidentiality. Not all all psychotherapy is covered by insurance companies. If you wish to claim out-of-network reimbursement for sessions, please speak with me about the criteria for doing so and request a "superbill" receipt. Upon request, I provide a sliding scale with limited spots, based on income.
Payments
Payment is due at the time services are provided. Most major credit cards or Health Savings Account (HSA/FSA) cards are acceptable forms of payment. All clients are required to keep a credit card of file through the secure payment app for services provided. You can request a "good faith estimate" of services prior to starting services. Upon review of your "good faith estimate" of services, you have a right to decide whether or not to work with Balanced Mind Studio LLC. Receipt of a "good faith estimate" does not obligate you to start or continue using this service. You have the right to f discontinue services at any time; however, if your mental status, health or safety is of concern, we will work together on identifying referrals for accessing other service options to best meet your needs.
Cancellation Polcy
Scheduled appointments are set specifically for you. If you have to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you are required to notify us at least 24 hours in advance by email. to avoid paying a full session rate for the missed session.
